PescaDOLUS was commissioned by the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries to produce a 6 minute fisheries crime educational video of the Norwegian government’s Blue Justice Initiative (BJI) and its capacity support offers to show on the Statsraad Lehmkuhl One Ocean Expedition (OOE).
The Norwegian tall ship is currently circumnavigating the globe sailing under the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development to spread knowledge and awareness of the sustainable use of the ocean. It calls at the ports of many of the nations supporting the Copenhagen Declaration against Transnational Organized Crime in the Global Fishing Industry.
UNDP, through its project Blue Resilience, which is funded by the BJI, is an official supporter of the OOE towards enhancing visibility, awareness-raising and global promotion of a sustainable blue economy free from fisheries crime.
The video was produced by ThinkTeam and was shown in a dedicated fisheries crime slot at high level receptions, coordinated by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign affairs in conjunction with local dignitaries, at the Lehmkuhl’s port call in Kingston, Jamaica, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and the Bahamas. It is planned to form part of the program at upcoming port calls, including Fiji in July 2022.
